Redesign Concept

About: This class assignment was about redesigning a massive website so that navigation is easier. I have selected Khan Academy.

What I did:
Information architecture, icon design, redesign navigation bar.

The Desktop View (before)

Hamburger Menu: The home page has a very clean simply look. The navigation bar has a hamburger menu button on top left. When clicked, all of the contents are all visible but covered the entire page.

The Desktop View (after)

Wireframes only: Instead of using a hamburger menu, I thought of using a traditional menu, with 8 school subjects.

The Mobile View (before)

The Mobile view has a big picture with some descriptions. The start button leads users to the sign up page.

The Mobile View (after)

Wireframes only: It will have the hamburger menu. The homepage has a picture that fills half of the screen. The the bottom half will display the subjects with the most hits.

The Process:

The Final Look

Adding Icons: The final look is still better with the hamburger menu. Instead of having all of the contents covering the entire page, they are organized by subjects with icons. Once a user clicks on the subject, they can go to another page and select by grade.
